Ole Football FC
What a Saturday – first a fantastic 3-1 win over Ole Football FC, and then a great celebration at The Den. I think we are on the right form for Vikings Cup in Singapore
We had a dream team ready for the game against Ole Football FC – 16 fit Vikings players + a lot of supporters – some of them found at The Den 5 minutes before kick off
We knew we were the favorites going into the game, and also it was a key game for us to win, but we knew that we had to work hard to achieve our goal
Our plan was to keep the good momentum from the game against Africa, and showing the same patience in our passing game. Based on the scouting report, we had to move the ball around their center midfield players, and use our wingers to created chances.
We started with great enthusiasm both on the pitch, but especially on the side line from our huge crowd of spectators.
In the first 45 minutes we were controlling the ball close to 70% of the time, and created a few opportunities, but the finished touch was not sharp enough, as well as we in some situations tried to “hard” to create the chance, instead of having the patience
Finally after 25 minutes play we got the well deserve goal due a great pass by Farlige Frank, and a good finish by Moeller – his 4th goal of the season
At half time it was discussed the importance of continuing “playing football” and getting the next goal, and not giving them a chance to get back in to the game.
We came out well, and especially Michael made some good runs, and came to some chances, but unfortunately without getting the 2-0 goal. Instead the Italians got a break away, and scored the equalizer L
The team showed great spirit and 5 minutes later Michael K had scored his 1st goal for the club – a very important goal.
The whole team kept working, and creating opportunities, which caused another goal by Michael K, which unfortunately was disallowed
Finally Nathan scored the 3-1 goal
A well deserved victory and 3 points for Vikings – Great way to start the Spring Season
